In 1952, Eberhard Layher married of marriage
Margot Korn, with whom he had a 1952.
happy marriage throughout his life
until Margot Layher passed away in
2009. Together they had four children,
Luise, Helga, Susanne and Hermann.
In 1965, the scaffolding company
achieved its breakthrough with
Layher Scaffolding. As early as 1974,
the Scaffolding was launched on the
market. Together with numerous other
patents, this was the basis of an extra-
ordinary, economic success story.

At the age of 66, Layher retired from
the scaffolding business and devoted
himself to his hobby as a collector
of vehicles and technical equipment.
On his initiative, Technik Museum
Sinsheim was established in 1981,
decisively characterizing as president
for many years. The opening of Technik
Museum Speyer followed in 1991.

Whether two- or four-wheelers -
his passion for motorized means
of transport and all technical
equipment led to the founding
of the museum in 1981.
