12 Year in review
JAN/FEB
Winter/Spring
Très chic
Initially, the year started with a mammoth
project in Speyer: the renovation of our
largest exhibit! Built in 1913 in Lesquin
near Lille (northern France), it was about
time for the more than 100-year-old
Liller Hall to get a new coat of paint.
The exhibits were either removed or
rearranged, oldtimers and organs were
tarped-off. There was a lot of painting
going on, as well as drilling, hammering
and screwing noises to be heard. We
used the rather quiet winter months to
modernize the exhibition and increase
our family-friendliness by implementing
new concepts. Thus, the largest part of
the Liller Hall was completed during our
anniversary year. As a striking example of
industrial architecture from the First World
War era and the heart of Technik Museum
Speyer, the building has already
experienced a lot. This made it all the
more important to carry out the work with
great sensitivity and attention to detail.
The workshop team, including its
own carpenters and painters was on
the project every day. Together with
