10 Year in review

However,
I would like to
aknowledge all
employees of the museums
whose personal development
I was able to witness.
I was able to meet my friend „Astro-Alex“
and greet him with a handshake in the Speyer
Space Hall. I was very taken by the impressive
personality of this modest, eloquent and
incredibly friendly person.
Breathtaking for me was walking on the wing of
our jumbo jet admiring the magnificent view of
Speyer’s skyline and its cathedral, as well as the
lightweight construction of this giant.
I have a personal relationship to our submarine:
When I once went diving in Egypt with my
domestic partner we met a very nice and
wonderful diver who joined us. By one or
two beers, he mentioned that he was a captain-
lieutenant on a recently decommissioned
submarine that had now gone to a museum.
We both looked at each other and asked instantly
„To the museum in Speyer ?“ to which he reacted
completely astonished. What an incredible
coincidence, which immediately made me invite
him to Speyer so that he could once again visit
his tiny bunk- what a small world.
Every year I look forward to Jagsthausen
theatre nights by Margot Layher. One of which
I remember in particular, as there was a schocking
accident during a fencing scene in „The 3
Musketeers“. After all actors had immediately
left the stage, the play‘s director came on stage
asking if there was a doctor present. However, this
call, which I immediately reacted to was followed
by an interruption of the performance in total.
The sword had stabbed one oft he actors‘
(D‘Artagnan‘s) eye leading to a very bloody
incident. Everyone was shocked as well as
the audience, but thankfully he survived
after receiving immediate medical care.
I have always particularly enjoyed the
opportinity to come into personal contact with
members of the friends‘ association during the
vintage car rides. It was a great pleasure to talk
to them about their four-wheeled treasures and
to discuss what they love and what they are
challenged by.
A well-established team since the museum was founded: (from left to right) Helga Schäfer, Dr. Köpke
