Lecture Astronaut Rabea Rogge

  •  Space Summer

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, we kick off Space Summer at the Technik Museum Speyer – and with a very special highlight. Germany's first female astronaut, Rabea Rogge, will be a guest in the FORUM Cinema and will give a firsthand account of her journey into space and her participation in the FRAM2 space mission, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Rabea Rogge is the first German woman to orbit the Earth multiple times, setting a significant milestone in German spaceflight history. In her lecture, she will take our visitors on a fascinating journey full of scientific discoveries, technical challenges, and personal impressions from space.

The program includes a presentation by Rabea Rogge, a panel discussion with Gerhard Daum, our curator and head of the "Apollo and Beyond" space exhibition, and a Q&A session with the audience. Children up to 14 years old will also have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the astronaut.

Admission to the event is possible with a valid ticket to the Technik Museum Speyer. Seating is limited to 350 people; admission begins at 1:40 p.m. and continues as seats are available. The event will be held in German and will end around 4:00 p.m.

During her stay in space, which lasted a total of 3 days, 14 hours, 32 minutes, and 38 seconds, Rabea Rogge orbited the Earth 56 times and conducted 22 scientific experiments on behalf of SpaceX, NASA, and international universities. These experiments included investigating atmospheric light phenomena and the effects of space travel on the human body, including the first X-ray of a human in space.

We are delighted to open Space Summer at the Technik Museum Speyer with Rabea Rogge and to embark on a summer full of space history, science, and inspiration together with our visitors. As part of Space Summer, our guests can also look forward to two other outstanding encounters: On July 18, 2026, we will welcome NASA astronaut Kathryn Thornton, and on August 8, 2026, NASA astronaut Mark Lee will visit.
