Arrival by car

The Technik Museum Speyer is situated at the Autobahn A61 near Heidelberg (Southern Germany). One hour south of Frankfurt airport! Clear signs and directives will lead you straight from the Autobahn to our extensive, car- and bus parking facilities.

Parking

The Technik Museum Speyer offers directly on the museum grounds numerous, paid parking spaces for:

  • Cars / motorcycles
  • Buses (minibus to coach)
  • Oldtimer Cars* (designated parking spaces in front of the main entrance)
  • Motor homes or caravans can use the areas for parking. However, overnight stays are only possible in the directly adjacent caravan park. Information about the caravan park is available at www.technik-museum.de/en/caravanpark.

Parking tickets
Parking tickets can be purchased either directly at the ticket office or at the ticket machines.
Members of the sponsoring association AUTO + TECHNIK MUSEUM SINSHEIM e.V. receive free parking tickets directly at the cash desk.

Oldtimer Cars*
Upon presentation of the vehicle registration document, Oldtimer-Car-Owners with an according license plate will receive a free parking ticket directly at the ticket office. For verification, the vehicle registration document with the indication H or classic car has to be presented to the staff at the cash desk.

Airport / Airfield

The airport Frankfurt-Main is situated 100 kilometers north of Speyer (length of travel 1 hour). The airport Stuttgart is situated 110 kilometers south of Speyer. The Speyer regional airfield (EDRY) is located right next to the Technik Museum Speyer:

Can admission tickets or ticket vouchers also be ordered by mail?

Yes - switch to our ONLINE-Shop on this website and look for the section “Packages and tickets”. In our online shop you can order tickets and vouchers for the Technik Museum Speyer and the IMAX DOME movie theatre as well as many other interesting museum items.

Can I take my dog with me?

Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the museum or the open-air ground.

Is the museum accessible to wheelchairs and baby buggies?

Most parts of the museum (parking places, restaurant, lobby with ticket office, open-air ground, ground floor of the museum halls etc.) are barrier-free. There are also special sanitary facilities for mothers with babies and handicapped people. However, the upper floors of the museum halls and some of the exhibits, like the aircraft on the museum roof, are not accessible to handicapped people or persons with baby buggies.

May I stay overnight in my motorhome on the premises of the museum?

Directly next to the Hotel am Technik Museum, we offer a comfortable Caravanpark with 90 pitches and modern sanitation facilities on our open air ground.

Can I pay by EC or credit card?

Yes, we accept EC cards as well as major credit cards at our ticket office and in our souvenir shop. You can also pay with your EC card in our restaurant (no credit cards accepted there).

Do you have lockers for helmets and bags?

Yes - in our museum foyer there are free lockers for helmets, motorcyclist equipment, and bags. Motorcyclists groups that need to store a lot of helmets and bags should let the museum ticket desk know - we would be happy to store your equipment in a locked storeroom.

Can I take pictures in the museum?

Taking photographs for private purposes is allowed in the Technik Museum Speyer without limitation. Please feel free to use aids such as tripods and spotlights, as long as their use does not disturb other museum visitors. You are welcome to publish images you have taken and films you have made on your own non-commercial sites, on image sharing sites, or on social sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Flickr etc.
